Saxon Mount - School Council Elections 2025

Back
16th Oct 2025

On Monday 13th October pupils were inspired by Councillor Glenn Haffenden, who spoke about the responsibilities of being an elected representative. He also shared his Top 5 Tips for Campaining:

1. Keep it clear and simple

2. Listen to others

3. Be yourself

4. Use your own strengths

5. Be respectful

Pupils designed their own campaigns and spent the start of the week presenting their campaigns to their peers. The Election took place on Thursday 16th October. There was a 98% turnout across the school. Pupils registered, were given their ballot papers and then posted it in the ballot box.

A huge congratulations to the elected candidates. We would also like to say a big well done to everyone who put themselves forward for election. Some of the campaigns were great and it takes courage to put yourself forward, so really well done to them all. We hope they will try again next year.

The first meeting of the council was on Wednesday 22nd October at 9:30am.  Elected representatives were given their school council badges.
