Saxon Mount - Visits to Rampion Offshore Wind Farm Visitor Centre

This month, pupils from Year 8 and 10 visited Rampion Offshore Wind Farm Visitor Centre. This trip was organised as part of the Open Doors scheme which enables opportunities for pupils to visit different places of work. 

Whilst there, pupils listened to a presentation about the Wind Farm, and took part in various interactive activities relating to the different job roles at the Windfarm. We also spoke to one of the members of staff, Kelvin, who told us all about his job, what he enjoys about his role, and how he got his job.

One of the pupils' favourite activities was definitely the virtual reality experience, where pupils got to experience a day in the life of a Turbine Technician, sailing out to the turbine, climbing to the top, and checking for faults.

All pupils showed great listening skills during the presentation, and excellent speaking skills by asking interesting questions.
